Fountain Pens

Asvine V126 (Amazon) - This is a great dupe of the Pilot Custom 823 and very affordable by comparison. I enjoy writing with it, but it’s not as smooth or fine as my Pilot Custom 823.

Esterbrook Estie (Esterbrook | Atlas Stationers) - The Esterbrook Estie is one of my favorite pens primarily because of Esterbrook’s Custom Nib Program. The Custom Nib Program works with nib misters to provide custom nib grinds to customers that cannot easily visit nib misters themselves at Pen Shows. They currently offer a Journaler nib, Scrib nib, Needlepoint nib, Techo nib, Mini Stub nib, and Flex nib. The fact that Esterbrook always comes up with fun colors for their Estie is also a definite plus!

Pilot Custom 823 (Amazon | Atlas Stationers) - The Pilot Custom 823 is grail pen worthy! It’s very pricey but is the perfect pen for a daily writer. The vacuum filling mechanism can be more difficult to clean, but it holds so much ink. It’s perfect for people that hate filling and cleaning their pens often. & The Pilot gold nib is by far my favorite nib for general writing.

Pilot Kakuno (Amazon | Atlas Stationers) - The Pilot Kakuno will always be my recommendation for beginner fountain pen users that enjoy a really fine tip. The Pilot extra fine and fine nibs are amazing! The smiley face on the nib and fun colors are a nice touch too.

TWSBI Eco (Amazon | Atlas Stationers) - The TWSBI Eco is my top recommendation for an internal piston fountain pen. The TWSBI Eco comes in fun colors and a variety of nib sizes. It’s especially perfect for people that enjoy specialty inks. TWSBI pens can be taken apart by the user, which makes them easier to clean. â€‹

TWSBI Mini (Amazon | Atlas Stationers) - The TWSBI Mini is one of my favorite pocket pens. Like the Eco, it has an internal piston, which houses a ton of ink. It's the perfect blend of portability and ink capacity. The fact that the cap screws on when posting is also a nice touch.

Fountain Pen Inks

Go to Shops for Ink Samples: Pen Chalet | Vanness Pens

De Atramentis Document Black (Atlas Stationers) - De Atramentis Document Black is my go to permanent black ink.

Diamine Earl Grey (Amazon | Atlas Stationers) - Diamine Earl Grey is my go to gray ink. I almost always have this in my Pilot Custom 823.

Ferris Wheel Press Peter Moss (Atlas Stationers) - Personally, I think Ferris Wheel Press goes a bit too hard with their shimmer inks, but I absolutely love their Peter Moss ink, which is a standard mossy green ink with lovely shading. I think they need to try their hand at more standard inks.

Pilot Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo (Amazon | Atlas Stationers) - Pilot Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo is my favorite blue ink from Pilot with lovely shading.

Notebooks and Planners

Field Notes (Amazon | Atlas Stationers | Field Notes) - Field Notes notebooks are not usually fountain pen friendly. (Once in a blue moon, there may be a quarterly edition that is.) However, they're the perfect notebook to use for brain dumps or as an inbox. When carrying my planner isn't feasible, a Field Notes always saves the day. Plus their quarterly editions make collecting Field Notes quite fun! There's an entire community around it.

Hobonichi Weeks (Amazon | Atlas Stationers) - The Hobonichi Weeks is the planner I pick up every year. I don’t use it for the entire year, but it’s my comfort planner. I always end up in one at some point during the year.

Leuchtturm1917 (Amazon | Atlas Stationers) - Leuchtturm1917 is my go to notebook when I want a dot grid layout and apparently for commonplacing. I love both the hard cover and soft cover versions, and the fact that it has page numbers is a very nice touch. Personally, I prefer the 80 gsm over the 120 gsm, and I typically use the A5 or B6+ size.

Maruman Mnemosyne notebooks (Amazon | Atlas Stationers) - Maruman paper is great with fountain pens. I love to use their Mnemosyne spiral notebooks and note pads for fountain pen and ink tests.

Notebook Therapy (Notebook Therapy) - If I’m looking to use a notebook with a higher gsm, Notebook Therapy is my notebook of choice. It works decently with fountain pens and has zero ghosting with its 160 gsm paper. Plus they have some really fun designs.

Stalogy Editor Series 365 A5 Size (Amazon | Atlas Stationers) - The Stalogy Editor Series 365 in the A5 size has my favorite grid of all the notebooks out there. It’s a light gray, 4mm grid that’s absolute perfection! It comes in both a full year and a half year. I wish all their notebook sizes came with a 4mm grid.

Traveler’s Company (Amazon | Atlas Stationers) - I love the Traveler’s Notebook system! It’s one of my favorite systems to use as a personal journal, and it’s great for travel as well. If you haven’t tried a Traveler’s Notebook yet, I highly recommend it if you enjoy leather journal covers. I have both their Standard and Passport size notebooks.

Bookish Supplies

Libro.fm - Libro.fm is my go to place to purchase audiobooks. The audiobooks are DRM free, which means you actually own the audiobook file AND you can play it on almost any platform. Libro.fm is also a social purpose corporation, meaning that some of their profits go towards supporting independent bookstores! If you enjoy audiobooks, I hope you check them out.

Tombow Dual Brush Pens (Amazon) - Tombow dual brush pens are my go to markers to use as highlighters when annotating books. I typically go for the light, pastel colors, and they have yet to bleed through on any of my book pages.

Other Things

Bose Ultra Open Earbuds (Amazon | Bose) - Bose earbuds are pricey, but I love my Ultra Open Earbuds. I think anyone that enjoys listening to music, audiobooks, or podcasts and needs to be able to hear their surroundings should check out the Bose Open Earbuds. It’s superior to any transparency mode in my opinion, and they’re perfect for the workplace if you’re able to listen to music while at work.

Supernote Nomad (Supernote) - I really love the Supernote as an e-ink tablet. The Nomad, in particular, is very convenient and portable with a writing area approximately the size of an A6 page. I highly recommend this if you want something you can take notes on and read ebooks on. The Supernote Nomad does offer the Kindle app for reading Kindle ebooks.
